Marineland

Marineland
is one of those places I used to go to in summer day camp. I do,
however, remember the bitter end of Marineland when, in 1986, Hartcourt
Brace Jovanovich (then owners of Sea World) purchased Marineland (for
$23.4 million). They promised to keep the park open but two months
later closed it and moved the animals to Sea World San Diego. Orky
and Corky were renamed as Shamu. Orky died in 1988 but Corky is
still alive and swimming. |
